TownSquare The Town Square Gazette

Guest Notes joins Supporter

The persistent Guest Notes board is now available to every TownSquare Supporter site.

The square has acquired a noticeboard. This is significant municipal news.

The Guest Notes board is now included with Supporter: a small place for visitors to leave a hello, a recommendation, or the sort of thought that absolutely cannot wait until they have opened a text editor.

Visitors write under their current TownSquare name, browse recent or popular messages, and respond with a heart or smile. Notes appear live for everyone in the square. Should a note turn out to be less "guest book" and more "mystery flyer stapled to a lamp post," you can remove it from the Add-ons tab.

Set up your board

If Supporter is enabled for your site, open Admin → Add-ons and turn on Guest Notes board. Then come the important civic decisions: wood, cork, or minimal; where the board should stand; how many notes it should show; and which details visitors can see. You can also set the colours, size, position, title, and reactions. The settings include a live preview, so the board can settle into your square without a lengthy town-planning meeting.

How to get Supporter

TownSquare is a side project I run in my spare time. Supporter access is my way of saying thank you to people who support it.

If you have already chipped in, send me a note and I will enable Supporter access for your site. There is no automated checkout flow, just a small thank-you for helping keep the lights on.
